is anyone bored of 'Tiltshift' yet?

 

I added a guasian blur on photoshop to the top and bottom part of the image.  It then creates a 'miniature'effect.  Why does it do this?
this was taken at Key gardens last summer term 2012.

Tiltshift is everywhere on tv at thr moment.  even match of the day uses it.
